Paul van Saarloos is a leading expert in corneal topography development, with a rich history of innovation and research in the field.

He is the inventor of the Atlas Topography System, that has been sold by Carl Zeiss Meditec. This was one of the top selling topography systems of the past 25 years.

In 1991 he published "Improved Method for Calculation of Corneal Topography for Any Photokeratoscope Geometry" in Optometry and Vision Science V68(12) pp960-965. This was one of the biggest improvements in calculating corneal topography in the past 100years. This algorithm was used in Zeiss' Atlas topography system.
